With the backdrop of Limassol Marina, the new thriving hub of town, the ΤΡΑΚΑΣΟΛ Cultural Centre is devoting May and June to Russian cultural events of a calibre aiming to appeal to all art lovers.
The festivities will begin on the 2nd of May, with top soloists from the Mariinsky Theatre Opera. Renowned soprano Lyudmila Dudinova, tenor Yevgeny Akimov, baritone Viktor Korotich and mezzo soprano Irina Shishkova, accompanied by award winning pianist Dmitry Yefimov, will present a Gala concert with the most beautiful classical arias.
On the 11th and 12th of May, art lovers will have the opportunity to attend two different performances by one of the world's most famous pantomime theatres, St. Petersburg's "Atelier" Plastic Theatre.
The tribute to Russian culture will continue on the 15th of May, with a piano recital by the famous Cypriot pianist Manolis Neophytou, who will perform various Russian masterpieces, such as excerpts from Sergei Rachmaninoff's 2nd and 3rd piano concerto in his own remixes, Solovyof - Sedoy's "Moscow Nights" and excerpts from famous ballets such as "The Nutcracker".
People of all ages will be able to watch spectacular and entertaining acts on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of May with clowns, jugglers, magicians and acrobats from St. Petersburg's Stage Circus.
The "Russian Cultural Days" will end with a unique exhibition entitled "A Doll's Tale". This will take visitors on a rare journey through childhood and toys, a relationship that dates back some 2,000 years. The collection includes over 10,000 dolls, traditional Russian matryoshka dolls, detailed Tsar dolls, porcelain dolls, plastic dolls, dollhouses, witches, baby figurines, dolls from different countries. The exhibits are part of the personal collection of collector Irena Stylianou.
