The official opening of the 2nd Cyprus International Investors Summit took place on Monday, September 11th, at Amathus Hotel in Limassol, where the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiades, has addressed a speech, welcoming all his local and foreign investors.
Participants came to Cyprus from all continents and from countries like United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, USA, China, Cyprus, Canada, Lebanon, Kuwait, Ukraine, Switzerland, South Africa, Georgia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Bulgaria, Grenada, Slovakia , Malta and Iran.
The conference hosted, amongst other things, institutional investors, real estate agents, citizenship experts, property lawyers, and property / leisure providers from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States.
The proceedings of the conference begun on Tuesday, September 12th, where Ministers and local economic experts participated in discussion panels, analyzing investment opportunities in Cyprus.
There were three panels for the main areas of development of the Cypriot economy, the “success story” of Cyprus through the eyes of the international investment community and investment in the real estate sector in Cyprus, with the participation of Ministers, carrier representatives and companies.
On Tuesday afternoon, 19 local major development projects were presented to the investors who had the opportunity to have personal meetings with the owners of the projects that interested them.
According to Mr. Christodoulos Agastiniotis (CIPA President), the investors who participated in the conference are top politicians, as they are heads of top investment funds in the world and beyond. They are agents active in the whole range of investment services abroad such as banking institutions, investment funds, international law firms, asset management offices, investment management companies, and even private investors.
He also added that Cyprus has rightfully earned a high position in the field of investment, and the conference had as an aim to continue the increased flow of foreign investment in Cyprus in order to create conditions for further growth, job creation and wealth for our country.
Moreover, he noted that the number of delegates that participated, came to almost four times higher than the 1st summit which took place two years ago, due to the current favorable economic conditions, the continuous upgrades of Cyprus by international rating agencies, the establishment of Cyprus as an investment center, and the great cooperation between the government and the private sector.
The conference concluded on Wednesday, September 13th, with additional meetings and on-site visits to the various projects.
