Director Fiona Mullen founded Sapienta Economics in 2006. She has been providing economic and political analysis and research to an international audience for over 25 years. Prior to living in Cyprus Mullen was Director of the flagship Country Reports and Country Profiles and Senior Europe Analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) – sister company of The Economist.
She served as the economy adviser on negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem from April 2008 until February 2016, both as a consultant and as an international staff member in the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus (OSASG - the “Good Offices” mission), advising among other things on the economic aspects of a settlement, including property-related issues. She has since continued to undertake project work for the Good Offices.
Mullen was the Cyprus contributor for the EIU for 15 years (2001-15) and is the author of several publications on the economy of Cyprus.
