Cyta is the primary telecommunications provider in Cyprus. Its product portfolio covers the whole spectrum of electronic communications ranging from fixed and mobile voice and data communications, Internet, IPTV, broadband and value added services.
Cytaglobal is a strategic business unit of Cyta and is particularly active in the area of international undersea fibre optic cables, providing wholesale products and services on a global basis. Taking advantage of the island’s strategic geographical position, Cytaglobal has developed an extensive undersea fibre optic cable network, which connects Cyprus with the neighbouring countries of Greece, Italy, Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt and thereafter with the rest of the world.
Cytaglobal also operates an extensive satellite network with two teleport sites, providing connectivity with Intelsat, Eutelsat, SES World Skies, AsiaSat, ABS, Arabsat and other major satellite systems. Services offered range from satellite television on a permanent and occasional basis to international telephony, monitoring services, data and internet connectivity. The teleports also offer VSAT services, hosting services to third parties and serve as a video head-end for Cyta’s IPTV offering in the Cyprus market.
Through its global network, Cytaglobal provides a wide range of international telecommunications products, services and total solutions, making Cyprus a major telecommunications hub in the Eastern Mediterranean and an excellent international electronic communications center.

Iris partners with Eurovision Media Services to extend coverage to Makarios Teleport in Cyprus
Iris is pleased to announce an agreement with Eurovision Media Services (EMS) to help extend coverage to the Makarios Teleport in Cyprus over the Eurovision FiNE Network. This opens new opportunities for the distribution of TV services in the region. By cooperating with EMS, Iris will be able to accept and receive content from all of the nodes in the Eurovision FiNE Network allowing delivery through fibre to Makarios Teleport and uplink to the Eurovision Global Network and other popular satellites visible from Cyprus.

Visit of the Minister of Telecommunications of Lebanon to Cyta
The Minister of Telecommunications of Lebanon, Mr Jamal Al-Jarrah, accompanied by the Lebanese Ambassador in Cyprus, Mr Youssef Sadaka and senior officials of the Lebanese Ministry and OGERO (state company which manages the international and retail telecommunication markets of Lebanon) had an official visit to Cyta last Thursday, 7th of September.

Lebanon and Cyprus to jointly provide a telecomms bridge to Europe
The Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications (LMoT) and Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) will jointly provide a telecommunications bridge between Lebanon and Europe via Cyprus. LMoT and Cyta, a corporate body wholly owned by the Republic of Cyprus, have announced that they have entered into an agreement to cooperate by sharing capacity on Cyta’s ALEXANDROS cable subsystem between Cyprus–Egypt–France, thereby creating reciprocal Eurasia and Eastern Mediterranean business opportunities.
