Work starts to upgrade airport facilities at Larnaca airport

Work has started to upgrade the shops and food outlets at Larnaca airport, airport operator Hermes announced recently.

The works are expected to last 18 months and will take place in stages.

The first stage is due to be completed by October and includes upgrading Burger King and Costa Coffee as well as the cosmetics and perfume shops in departures.

Temporary shops to replace them are already in place.

Upon completion of the project travellers can expect “a modern redesigned space,” Hermes said. “The way which leads from the end of the baggage check to the commercial areas will provide optimal passenger traffic through the use of adequate signage. New premises will add new cafés and restaurants which will satisfy a wide range of travellers by offering an enhanced travel experience.”

The works will not affect the operation of the airport and travelling passengers, and every effort will be made to reduce inconvenience.
