Unemployment in Cyprus in May declined to 15.3% registering its second consecutive reduction in 2014, according to recent figures released by Eurostat.
According to figures released by Eurostat, unemployment in May declined by 0.2% compared with April’s 15.5%.
In absolute numbers the number of unemployed persons declined to 64,000 from 65,000 in May.
From 16.5% in December, unemployment in 2014 declined to 15.7% in January 2014, where it remained in February, and accelerated to 15.9% in March. However unemployment returned to a downward path in April and May.
Euro area unemployment reached 11.6% in May and EU-wide unemployment stood at 10.3%.
