The scholarship will be valid only for the 2022-2023 academic year. The remaining years of study for those selected will also be covered by the ministry, provided that funds are available and based on the ranking order already secured by the candidate.

According to the relevant announcement, the maximum amount for each scholarship is €20,000 per year and will cover tuition fees and a monthly allowance. The scholarships will only cover the required study time as specified in the curriculum description and not any delays or retakes due to unsatisfactory student performance.

Relevant fields of study for undergraduate programs are defined as disciplines in Petroleum/Hydrocarbon Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Oil and Gas Management, Renewable Energy and energy transition in general. Relevant fields of study for Master’s and Doctoral level postgraduate programmes are defined as any field of study relevant to hydrocarbons, renewable energy and energy transition.

The selection criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including PhDs are academic with a weighting of 80% and socio-economic with a weighting of 20% and the prerequisite is to secure an unconditional place of admission.

The last date for submission of applications has been fixed as Friday, 23 September 2022.

Interested applicants can submit the relevant application form which can be found along with the general terms and conditions and the evaluation criteria on the website of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry.
