Transport sector increases in Q3 of 2014

The transport sector recorded an increase of 0.8% for the period July - September 2014, compared to the corresponding period last year, the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus announced recently.

Land transport and water transport recorded an increase of 3.8% and 17.4% respectively. Air transport recorded a decrease of 32.3%.

Furthermore, warehousing and support activities for transportation recorded an increase of 2.2%, whereas postal and courier activities recorded a decrease of 0.1%.

For the period January – September 2014, compared to the corresponding period last year, the transport sector recorded a decrease of 1.8%.

More specifically, land transport and water transport recorded an increase of 6.9% and 14.5% respectively.
