Trade deficit up in November 2016 by 25%

Trade deficit increased in November 2016 by 25% to € 338.508 compared with €270.596 in November 2015.

On the basis of preliminary estimates for Foreign Trade of Cyprus in November 2016 issued by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, total imports / arrivals were €505.0 mn, of which €338.0 mn were arrivals from other Member States of E.U. and €167.0 mn imports from Third Countries. Total exports/dispatches were €166.5 mn of which €72.4 mn were dispatches to other Member States of E.U. and €94.1 mn exports to Third Countries.

Total imports/arrivals in January-November 2016 amounted to €5.334,6 mn as compared to €4.695, 2 mn in January-November 2015. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other EU Member States) in January-November 2016 were €1.567,9 mn compared to €1.608,6 mn in January-November 2015. The trade deficit was €3.766,6 mn in January-November 2016 compared to €2.086,5 mn in the corresponding period of 2015.
