Trade and tourism are key sectors for Cyprus-Egypt collaboration

Trade and tourism are the main fields where Cyprus and Egypt can further develop bilateral cooperation, according to the Egyptian Ambassador.

In an interview with CNA, Ambassador of Egypt to Cyprus, Dr. Elmarassi notes the excellent longstanding relations between Cyprus and Egypt, pointing out that tourism and trade are the main fields of bilateral cooperation with prospects for further development. With regard to energy matters, she recalls the agreement to set up a joint technical committee, which will look at possible ways of cooperation between the two countries in this field.

On Egypt’s current domestic affairs and attempts to move towards political and social stability, the Egyptian Ambassador indicated that the mandate before the transitional government is to successfully oversee a rapid transition back to an elected civilian leadership.
