Tourism revenue up 3.1% in January 2019

Revenue from tourism reached €39.6m in January 2019 compared with €38.4m in the same month of the previous year, recording an increase of 3.1%, the statistical service said recently.

According to Cystat, expenditure per person per visit fell on average to €483.26 in January compared with €506.49 in the same month last year, a decrease of 4.6%.

Expenditure per person/per day fell by 3.5% from €56.28 to €54.30.

A decrease of 1.1% was also recorded in the average length of stay, from nine days in January 2018 to 8.9 days in January 2019.
