Revenue from tourism increased by €43.4 million in June, 2014, compared to the same month in 2013, while during the first half of the year, revenue increased by €81.1 million, according to the Statistical Services.
On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €303.2 million in June 2014 compared to €259.8 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 16.7%.
For the period January–June 2014 revenue from tourism is estimated to €778.7 million compared to €697.6 million in the corresponding period of 2013, recording an increase of 11.6%. As regards tourist arrivals, numbers reached 342,221 in June 2014 compared to 308,219 in the corresponding month of 2013.
