The Telegraph lists top Cyprus hotels

The Telegraph's Travel website lists some of the best hotels in Cyprus, chosen by a residential expert, which include both luxury hotels and less expensive quality accommodation.

A Telegraph travel journalist refers to savoury budget lodgings within town limits in Cyprus and advises potential holidaymakers on how to get their money’s worth at the beachfront resort strips, or points to ahire car towards better-value accommodation in the countryside.

Most Limassol lodging lies to the east of the centre in the Potamós Yermasóyias and Amathus districts, while at Larnaca the main concentration is north-east towards Voróklini.

In Paphos, most hotels line a shoreline strip extending about 5km east from the old port, though there are several more scatted along the coast northwest from harbour.

Comfortable hotels (of three-star rating or more) should provide a decent buffet breakfast; below that, the next option is to head into town for breakfast at a café.

Always check before booking, as some hotels are seasonal and close during the winter period.
