The Future of Cyprus for Russian Business

A one-day unique conference titled ‘The Future of Cyprus for Russian Business 2016’ will take place on January 28, 2016 at the Hilton Park Hotel in Nicosia.

The event is organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CCIC), the Cyprus-Russia Business Association, Withers LLP (Zurich) and Chryssafinis & Polyiou LLC. It is sponsored by Eurobank, PwC and the Cyprus Weekly.

Even though Russian investors were affected by the collapse of the island’s economy in 2013, they have continued to prefer doing business in Cyprus as they still have a significant investment interest in the country’s tax and legal framework. Experts from Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Cyprus analyse the situation and share their insights on the matter.

Topics will include the prospects of business between the two countries, the impact of a political solution in Cyprus, the recovery of the Cyprus banking system, privatisations, updates on new tax and company laws, Russian tax and currency control regulations as well as transparency issues and exchange of information between the two countries.

The event will be honoured by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastassiades, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Stanislav V. Osadchiy, President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Phidias Pilides, President of the Cyprus – Russia Business Association, Evgenios Evgeniou, and Senior Partner of Chryssafinis and Polyviou, Polyvios G. Polyviou.
