The protocol was signed by the Tepak’s rector, professor Panagiotis Zafeiris and the general manager of the Apollonion private hospital, Leonidas Ieronymides.
The framework provides the placement of students of Tepak’s Faculty of Health Sciences in the Apollonian for practical and clinical training purposes, as well as the right of the hospital to access Tepak’s alumni network for the publication of job positions and other information that might concern graduates.
Included in the agreement are also the organisation of joint scientific and educational events and activities, the exchange of consulting and scientific services and studies, the joint participation in research and development programmes as well as the exchange of information on health issues.
In a written statement, Apollonian referred to its cooperation with TEPAK as “very important,” since the hospital joins forces with a renowned university in the framework of a multilevel cooperation in the fields of science, research and education “with the ultimate goal of the public good”.
Tepak’s Faculty of Health Sciences consists of the Department of Nursing, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and the Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health (CII), which offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Tepak, despite being the newest public university in Cyprus, has nevertheless managed to establish itself internationally as a renowned higher education institution, with an emphasis on academic and research excellence, making it one of the best universities in the world today according to international university evaluations.
The university was included for the fifth consecutive year in the international Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2021, among the best new universities, occupying the 54th position.
