Four categories have been added to the website, (www.jccsmart.com), to help users choose the type of payment they would like to make.

They are withholdings, for taxes and contributions withheld from third parties’ incomes, self-assessments for calculation of taxes, assessments for tax demands that have been issued by the tax department and fees to assess rulings and stamp duties for banks only.

The tax department said members of the public can make electronic payments only if their dues are not subject to interest and other penalties.
