Sustainable development of maritime transport

Sustainable development of maritime transport was discussed at an international Ministerial meeting on maritime issues that took place in Limassol recently.

The meeting was attended by international representatives of ministries and maritime organizations from Russia, the US, Britain, Bahamas, Denmark, Greece and Malta.

In statements on the sidelines of the meeting, Communications and Works Minister Marios Demetriades said that the organization of this event shows the very important role that Cyprus plays in the maritime sector at a global level.

He also noted that the meeting addressed economic, social and environmental issues related to the sustainable development of maritime transport.
