Addressing a recent event organized by Junior Achievement Cyprus, the Minister said in order for the country and society to change for the better, we need to proceed with structural reforms but also to change our attitude.
In his speech Lakotrypis also referred to data by the European Commission according to which 15%-20% of the students who attended workshops on entrepreneurship, later started their own businesses, adding that even if these students do not become entrepreneurs themselves, the benefits from participating in these projects are tremendous.
He reassured that the government supports small and medium size businesses and innovation, stressing that to this end the Ministry is implementing various schemes and projects, which are funded by Cyprus and EU funds.
Junior Achievement Cyprus was founded as a non-profit organization in 2011. Its aim is to provide young people in schools across Cyprus with experiences that promote the skills, understanding and perspective that they will need to succeed in a global economy. JA Cyprus is a member of JA-YE Europe.
