Some 170,000 flu vaccines will be delivered to Cyprus within the next 15 days and the Health Ministry is now planning the best way these should be distributed.
This is what Philenews reported on Tuesday, adding that a total of 155,000 of flu vaccines had been delivered in Cyprus last year.
This year’s 50,000 will cover the needs of children and infants from six months to three years and the remaining 120,000 will go to people over 65. But also to younger people who belong to the vulnerable groups of the population and have to be vaccinated against the flu.
The first two batches of flu vaccines are expected in Cyprus in the last week of September and will amount to a total of 50,000 vaccines.
In October, two more major deliveries are scheduled for a total of 110,000 flu vaccines.
The 55,000 vaccines are expected in mid-October and another 65,000 are scheduled for the 31st of the month.
