Retail trade up in July 2017

The retail trade showed significant increase in July 2017, according to figures released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus recently.

On the basis of provisional estimates, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for July 2017 increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 102.6 units (base 2010=100).
 
For the period January-July 2017 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 5.0% compared to the same period of 2016.
 
On the basis of provisional estimates, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for July 2017 increased by 6.9% compared to the corresponding month of 2016 and reached 107.6 units (base 2010=100).
 
For the first seven months of the year, the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period last year.
