According to an announcement from the municipality, the tender launch follows the agreement they signed for the use of government land with the department of urban planning.

The event/recreation centre that will be created will include a children’s play area, a sports area for athletes, an open-air amphitheatre for 150 people, a refreshment room and restrooms.

Lighting, water supply and plants will also take place as part of the project.

The total project is expected to cost €890,000 + VAT, and the study of the area was made by AF Modinos & SA Vrahimis Architects & Engineers.

The project will be cofunded by the European Union as part of the ‘Thalia 2021-2027’ programme, the government, and the Larnaca municipality.

Tender submissions for the project are due by October 14, and documents can be found at www.eprocurement.gov.cy.
