The Cyprus Association of Large Scale Development Projects and the Qatar Islamic Bank recently discussed the large development projects and the investment opportunities offered by the private sector in Cyprus.

According to an announcement issued by the Association, the meeting was held at the offices of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), with the participation of leaders of the CCCI and OEB, the Association of Large Scale Development Projects and other business association.

The officials of Qatar Islamic Bank were informed on the Cyprus business environment and the investment opportunities in development projects such as golf courses, marinas, health and wellness centres, schools of higher education, commercial and residential developments, hotels and many others.

The Association’s Spokesman Andreas Demetriades stated that the interest of the Bank concerns the financing of major projects in Cyprus, other than the field of real estate, as well as projects undertaken by Cypriot companies in Qatar.

Demetriades added that the implementation of development projects will bring multiple benefits to the economy, such as new jobs, revenues from taxation, investment opportunities and development benefits for the economy.

The Qatar Islamic Bank is the largest bank in Qatar and one of the top five banks in the world that is compatible with Sharia principles.
