President holds talks with ExxonMobil officials

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades recently received in Washington DC a delegation from ExxonMobil headed by its Chief Executive Officer Darren Woods.

The talks focused on theimplementation progress of the energy plans agreed between the Republic of Cyprus and the US energy giant, according to an official announcement.

“Issues related to regional energy developments were also discussed,” it added.

ExxonMobil is scheduled to carry out drilling for gas and oil offshore Cyprus in July.

Taking part in the meeting were Foreign Affairs Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, Energy Minister George Lakkotripis, Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides and the ambassador of Cyprus in Washington.

Anastasiades is on a working visit to the American capital.
