Also of interest is the fact that the number of airline seats arriving in Cyprus for the next tourist season is on the rise.
According to the president of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents (ACTA), Dinos Kakkouras, the signals from foreign travel agents are that there will be increases in bookings for off-peak months something which helps with the extension of the summer season.
“Pre-bookings are progressing positively for our island, which shows that the increase in tourist numbers will continue,” said Kakkouras.
The general manager of the hotelier’s association PASYKSE, Zacharias Ioannides, said that hoteliers show constrained optimism from the data on pre-bookings and the number of flight seats, with the number of bookings having increased compared to last year.
Tourist revenue is also on the rise, with 2016 expected to close with an increase of 12.3% in revenue.
