Cyprus will launch its biggest ever digital promotion campaign to win back lost tourists now that people all over the world spend more time online because of the coronavirus lockdowns.
This is what Deputy Tourism Ministry Savvas Perdios has said while unveiling the holiday island’s three pillars of its 2021 strategy plan, Philenews reported on Thursday.
The first pillar is Cyprus’ promotion through digital marketing strategies, second priority is improving existing infrastructure and thirdly the implementation of projects to encourage tourism in the mountain areas and countryside.
“New creative promotion material is already under draft as regards our biggest ever digital campaign,” Perdios said.
“This includes tourism-related photographs, videos and other productions as well as the country’s new tourism logo,” he added.
The deputy minister also said that a campaign aiming to raise environmental conscience amongst locals was of importance as well. Permanent residents of Cyprus should realise that the beauties of the island should be protected and be clean all the time, he added.
Cyprus tourist arrivals fell by over 80% last year due to the pandemic.
