Number of scheduled flights between Ukraine and Cyprus increases

Ukraine has designated four airlines that will conduct scheduled flights between Ukraine and Cyprus, after the lifting of limitations to the number of airlines that conduct scheduled flights between the two countries.

The four airlines are “Ukraine International”, “UTAIR-Ukraine”, “Air Onix” and “Wizz Air Ukraine”. They will hold flights from Kiev, Donetsk and Odysseus to Larnaca and vice versa. According to an official press release, Cyprus Ministry of Communications and Works, has as the competent aviation authority, made a new arrangement with the correspondent Ukrainian authorities to conduct flights between the two countries. It has been agreed that a multiple number of airlines will be designated by each side to hold scheduled flights between the two countries and that the number of flights will be unlimited.

With the new arrangements between Cyprus and Ukraine, the Cyprus government promotes further its 'open skies' policy. Air traffic between the two countries increased during the last years by 25% average. In 2010 it reached 41,096 passengers, 56,807 in 2011 and 69,890 in 2012 while in 2013 the number of passengers was 98,101. The number is expected to increase in 2014.
