Noble Energy adopts part of Faros beach in Larnaca district

Noble Energy, operators of the Block 12 offshore licence, have adopted a stretch of 400 metres of the Faros beach in Pervolia in the Larnaca district, aiming at protecting the environment and upgrading the area.

The adoption was made possible in cooperation with the Pervolia Community Council and the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association CYMEPA.

A part of the adopted beach is a protected area of the Natura 2000 network and home to threatened species and the other part is a public beach.

Twenty members of Noble Energy staff cleaned the area by collecting litter from the beach and sea and they committed themselves to keep the beach clean throughout the year with several clean-ups.

Noble Energy installed wooden bins and benches and signs urging people to keep the beach clean.

John Tomich, Noble Energy Country Manager in Cyprus, also announced that the company will continue to support environmental and marine conservation in Cyprus.
