The new route, which follows from the twice-weekly flights operated from Vienna to Larnaca airport from March this year, will open up the Paphos market for incoming tourism from Austria and southern Germany, as well as feed outbound traffic via Vienna to connections for Cypriot holidaymakers and businesspeople.
The network’s popular destinations are Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich, Berlin, Zurich, Rome, Milan and Helsinki.
As part of the airberlin group it was granted membership of the oneworld alliance on 20 March 2012, enabling the Austrian carrier to offer its customers a worldwide route network.
Representatives from the Paphos Regional Board of Tourism (PRBT) met with the management team of Flyniki-Airberlin group and discussed different ways to support the new routes including PR activities, advertising campaigns, sales promotion and much more. The two parties have agreed to closely cooperate and set up a promotional plan for Cyprus and overseas.
The cooperation will also boost significantly the organisers of the Paphos 2017 Culture Capital celebrations.
