The second cycling route, which is approximately 69km long, begins at Limassol Marina and connects to the 1st cycling route in Pano Platres. The 7th and final wine route is located in the mountain area of Larnaca and Nicosia and passes through 11 communities and three wineries, Aes Ambelis, Ktima Dafermou and Ktima Christoudia, the CTO said.
Both projects are co-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) under the project Enrichment and Enhancement of Themed Routes.
“These routes help in the development of special products that add value to Cyprus’ tourism offerings and contribute to the enhancement of rural areas, the mitigation of seasonality, and give Cyprus a competitive advantage as a tourist destination,” the CTO said.
Head of Tourism, Anita Demetriadou presented the two projects in Limassol. “Through synergies and targeted activities, we aim to position Cyprus as a destination with limitless opportunities for leisure and all-year-round activities, showcasing our countryside as a dynamic component of our island’s tourist identity,” she said.
