New routes announced from Cyprus airports

Hermes Airports recently announced the operation of new routes to and from Cyprus, as well as an increase in the frequency of flights on existing routes.

Vueling Airlines inaugurated its route Larnaca-Barcelona on June 28th and will fly twice a week.

From 22nd of June, Wizz Air, incorporated new routes, connecting Larnaca with Lithuania’s capital Vilnius, and by March 2015. Flyniki also is expected to include in its flight schedule, the Paphos-Vienna route.

In addition, British Airways is increasing its flights this summer by adding extra flights and connecting both Larnaca and Paphos, with London (Gatwick).

Edelweiss has informed Hermes that it will continue its flights to and from Cyprus, throughout the winter, from Larnaca to Zurich (Switzerland).

Moreover as of 26th of October 2014, Ryanair is also expected to renew its routes to Cyprus, linking Paphos with Rome-Ciampino (Italy), Brussels-Charleroi (Belgium), Kaunas (Lithuania), Manchester and London-Stansted (United Kingdom), Thessaloniki, Athens and Chania (Greece).

It should be noted that during this period, Hermes is in negotiations with another two German companies, German Wings and Germania with an aim at getting them to include Cyprus in their flight schedules.

In his statement, the Chief Executive Officer of Hermes, Wes Porter, expressed his satisfaction that both Cyprus Airports are continuously being enriched with new routes and new airlines. He also stressed the fact that these developments are the result of continuous, collective hard work done by Hermes, in collaboration with other organizations of the Cyprus tourism industry.
