Cyprus is an economy dominated by micro businesses, with 95.5% of enterprises having less then 10 employees, according to the Business Register 2015 published by the Statistical Service, Cystat recently.
According to the Business Register, which covers all the sectors of the economy, the number of enterprises rose by 2% in 2015 and the number of establishments increased by 3.1% compared with 2014.
The total number of enterprises in 2015 reached 90,162, compared to 88,346 in 2014, while the total number of establishments amounted to 98,765 in 2015, compared with 95,748 in 2014.
