Limassol Marina ranked as one of world’s most Instagrammable

Limassol Marina has been ranked sixth in a list of the world’s most Instagrammable marinas based on the number of hashtags.

Comparethemarket.com, one of the UK’s leading price comparison websites, compiled a ranking of the top 10 most Instagrammed marinas around the world.

Dubai takes the top spot and is known as a picturesque spot of skyscrapers, blue waters and swanky restaurants.

#dubaimarina has received over 3.9 million posts on Instagram, with more people appearing to be visiting the city recently.

Taking second place is Marina del Rey, a seafront community in LA with the port being North America’s largest man-made small-craft harbour. Coming in third is Marina di Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Italy famous for its lavish parties and nightlife, the surrounding area features a mix of unspoiled natural beauty and modern facilities, such as high-end boutiques and clubs.

Limassol Marina ranks sixth with 65,428 hashtags. According to its official website, the marina is “the most exciting new destination in the region, offering a lifestyle uniquely shaped by ‘living on the sea’”.

Located in the heart of Limassol, it is surrounded by a rich history and a diverse international community.

It offers 650 berths for yachts up to 110m, 162 luxury apartments and 74 exclusive villas, with private berths or direct access to the beach.

The marina also benefits from its own dining and shopping establishments, spa, fitness and cultural facilities.

Cyprus is also included in the popular destinations for travellers during this period, the same website said.

“Currently, UK searches for destinations such as Dubai, Cyprus, and Greece are on the rise, as potential travellers go on the hunt for their next destination as early as next month,” said Josh Daniels, head of travel at comparethemarket.com.

Other spots that missed the top 10 include Montauk Yacht Club in New York, and Porto Hercules in Monaco.
