Specifically, Larnaca Airport (LCA) came behind only Iceland’s Keflavik International (KEF) and Ukraine’s Boryspil International (KBP) in the ACI Europe group of airports welcoming between five million and 10 million passengers a year. LCA reported a 26.9% increase, KEF a 53.7% rise, and KBP a 32.2% increase.
Welcoming the development, Hermes Airports noted: “Essentially Larnaca International Airport takes first place in this category when it comes to EU member states”.
Commenting, the airport operator’s Senior Marketing Manager Maria Kouroupi said: “We are very satisfied with the rate of passenger flow so far, as it continues an upward trend for the second year running. The results of the first quarter confirm an increase during the winter months, something which is a strategic priority for us”.
