Our Managing Director, Mr. Soteris Pittas participated as a speaker at the 12th Kazakhstan Legal Forum 2022 (KLF 2022), a leading legal forum in Kazakhstan, that was held at the Swissotel Wellness Resort Alatau, in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 29th. Our Legal Consultant Ms. Thea Pitta, as well as our Business Consultant Mrs. Aigul Zhankuiliyeva from Kazakhstan, had also attended the conference.
The KLF 2022 was organized by the Lincoln Company and attracted more than 80 speakers and 350 participants from Kazakhstani companies and top Kazakhstani law firms.
The forum was held in three parallel sections on Corporate Law & M&A, Crypto + FinTech, Subsoil Use and International Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Soteris Pittas participated in the section on International Dispute Resolution, which was co-sponsored by Soteris Pittas & Co LLC and Grant Thornton UK LLP, with the topic of “Cyprus as a forum for Dispute Resolution’’.
Other panelists included Andrey Panov of Allen & Overy with the topic of “Participation of parties from Kazakhstan and the CIS in international arbitration proceedings: difficulties and ways to solve them”, Jonathan Thielmann of Grant Thornton UK LLP and Fraser Mitchell of Armstrong Teasdale with the topic of “Third party funding of dispute resolution”.
