Kapnos, which resumed its shuttle service to Larnaca and Paphos airports on June 1, on Tuesday unveiled a new, upgraded electronic reservation system to facilitate bookings.
At the same event Transport Minister Yiannos Karousos welcomed the reopening of the tourism industry.
Kapnos owner and director Marios Kapnos said the shuttles had resumed on June 1 with daily schedules linking Nicosia, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Protaras with Larnaca and Paphos airports.
Due to the pandemic, the shuttle was first suspended from March 18, 2020 to June 9, 2020, and then again from November 14, 2020-May 31, 2021.
The pandemic affected people’s health and caused severe financial setbacks to businesses, including transportation companies, Karousos said.
But with patience, perseverance and in cooperation with the authorities, movement restrictions have been lifted, he added.
And he welcomed the restart of tourism and units of tourist activities that include Kapnos Airport Shuttle Ltd, as well as taxis, tourist buses and rental vehicles.
Kapnos said the pandemic had initially affected all, but the company had managed to adapt quickly to safeguard its values and jobs.
Using the new, upgraded and user-friendly online reservation system, passengers can book their seat and pre-pay the ticket. The receipt is the passenger’s ticket, he added.
“Our new reservations system, which will come into operation on July 1, also offers information on our services and our daily routes from and to Larnaca and Paphos airports,” he said.
