Based in Nicosia, the new Arch Capital branch will start operating on the first working day of the New Year, but is expected to begin screening candidates for highly specialised positions in the immediate future. ACGL will be looking for internationally accredited actuaries and assessors, risk analysts, as well as a number of economists specialising in related group activities, to staff its Cyprus headquarters.

Speaking to Phileleftheros newspaper, Cypriot Dinos Iordanou, of the founding members and Chairman of the Board of ACGL since November 2009, said that Cyprus being his homeland, he has a special interest in seeing the branch develop and succeed. Hence, the objective is to get the best of the best to man the company.

Dinos Iordanou along with senior executives of Arch Capital responsible for development and administrative matters found themselves in Cyprus recently, to oversee legal and organisational issues.

According to Phileleftheros, there are more than 50 certified specialists actuaries and risk assessors in Cyprus, with more than another 100 executives in the process of attaining international accreditation,  giving Arch Capital a good range of options for specialised personnel.
