Innovative Business Professionals Certificate launched by PwC’s Academy in Partnership with ICAEW

PwC Cyprus is thrilled to announce the launch of PwC’s Academy Business Professionals Certificate (BPC), in October. It is a one-of-a-kind program, developed in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), aiming to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge crucial for succeeding in today’s competitive business landscape. Starting this October, the inaugural class will graduate in June 2026.

Why the BPC was created
The BPC is designed for individuals seeking to acquire fundamental business principles—such as accounting, information management, Cyprus Tax, and Cyprus Law—without committing to a full professional qualification. It is especially valuable for individuals with little or no accounting background who need a basic understanding of the business world.

Potential participants include high school graduates looking to gain business knowledge before deciding what’s next, as well as university graduates without an accounting or business background seeking to develop specific business skills applicable to the Cypriot market. The program also offers an excellent reskilling opportunity  for those considering a career change or upskill for individuals re-entering the workforce after a career break (e.g. motherhood).

Certificate overview
The BPC is a comprehensive 21-month program consisting six modules, each concluding with an exam. Participants will earn a standalone certificate upon successfully completing each module, and upon finishing the entire course, they will receive the prestigious BPC certificate.

The modules are:

  • Accounting
  • Assurance & Ethics
  • Cyprus Law and Corporate Governance
  • Cyprus Taxation
  • Management Information
  • Data Analytics

Cleo Papadopoulou, Chief Learning Officer welcomed the new certificate: “We are excited to launch PwC's Academy Business Professionals Certificate (BPC), addressing a market need by offering business skills tailored to the Cypriot market. Classes are set for Friday afternoons and Saturdays, ensuring participants can maintain their professional or personal commitments."
