Commercial attaches of Cyprus in Beijing, London, Berlin, Dubai, Paris, Moscow, Vienna, Warsaw, Beirut, Tel Aviv, Athens and New York participated in the seminar. Through a comprehensive and thorough presentation, CIPA officers informed the commercial attaches on the Agency’s role, mission and strategy, as well as its targeted efforts to attract investment and reverse the negative climate. Cyprus’ growth sectors, specific projects and comparative advantages as an investment destination were also presented.
The CIPA officers stressed the Agency’s desire to closely cooperate with the commercial attaches – primarily on updating foreign investors on Cyprus’ potential and the opportunities it has to offer – providing them with the Agency’s resources but also promotional material. The seminar was of an interactive nature. In addition to CIPA’s presentation, participants asked questions and partook in discussions, with commercial attaches showing great interest and making it evident that they can contribute to Cyprus’ coordinated effort to return to growth.
CIPA Senior Officer Marios Tannousis said: “The seminars were very useful and provided a platform to exchange ideas and views on attracting investment. Our goal is to develop close cooperation with our commercial attaches, in regards to approaching and informing investors.” He added that CIPA was at the disposal of the commercial attaches as well as our country’s embassies abroad, “so as to provide all possible assistance on anything that falls under their field of action or authority.” The webinars were organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
