Inflation remained high in September

The rate of inflation in Cyprus remained high in September – registering at 4.1% – though lower than the 5% of the previous month, according to the Statistical Service.

Energy had the biggest impact on the increase in prices compared to September 2020.

For the period January-September 2021, the Consumer Price Index went up by 1.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2020.

An analysis showed that the largest changes – compared to the index of September 2020 – were recorded in electricity (39.4%) and petroleum products (21.1%).
