The Health Insurance Organization (HIO) will finally proceed with private hospitals in order to cover the afternoon, weekend and holiday shifts thus giving time to the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) to decide whether its hospitals will also join the afternoon-shift program.
It is noted that the afternoon-shift program will probably delay for approximately 15 days (meaning it will start on 15th and not on the June 1) so that OKYPY will have the time to discuss with the trade unions of public doctors whether they will join the program.
The program will begin with private hospitals, one in each town, and then if OKYPY replies positively, a second hospital in each district will begin shifts.
