Harmonized inflation records increase in January 2017

Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat) announced that the Harmonized Price Index for January 2017 increased by 0.7% compared to January 2016, while compared to December of 2016 it decreased by 0.8%.

According to figures by the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, compared to January 2016, the category with the biggest positive change was Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels (2.8%), whereas the category with the greatest decrease was Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance of the House (-2.4%).

In comparison to the HICP of December 2016, the category with the most significant change was Clothing and Footwear (-14.0%).
