Harmonised inflation accelerates in August 2014

August harmonised inflation in Cyprus accelerated to 0.8% compared with the 0.1% of the corresponding period of 2013 when the island was facing deflation pressures, figures released by Eurostat on show.

Compared with July, HCPI declined marginally to 0.8% from 0.9%.

The Euroarea average harmonised inflation remained unchanged to 0.4% compared with 1.3% in the corresponding period of 2013, whereas the EU average harmonised inflation stood at 0.5%.
