Government's financial assets at €15.42b

The General Government’s financial assets stood at €15.42 billion at the end of December 2016, while its financial liabilities were at €28.39 billion, according to figures released recently by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

The quarterly financial accounts compiled by the Central Bank, showed that the General Government’s currency and deposits amounted to €9.09 billion and the debt securities in its possession stood at €220 million.

According to the figures, the loans granted by the Central Bank stood at €1.18 billion, it possessed shares of €4.18 billion and other financial instruments of €740 million.
