Government sells €10.7m in 6-year bonds

The government sold more than €10.7m in 6-year bonds to a total of 57 individual investors, the public debt management office said recently.

Three foreign investors bought €7.5 million in bonds, the PDMO, which is a unit of the Finance Ministry, said in an emailed statement today.

If held until maturity, the bonds carry an annual 5.5% interest rate, which drops if the holder liquidates his investment at an earlier stage.

Foreign investors may acquire the Cypriot citizenship by buying as little as €2.5 million in government bonds.
