GDP rises in Cyprus in Q1 2017

Seasonally adjusted GDP rose in Cyprus by 0.6% in Q1 of 2017 compared to Q4 2016 and by 3.3% since Q4 2016, according to Eurostat.

Meanwhile, GDP rose by 0.6% in both the euro area (EA19) and the EU28 during the first quarter of 2017, compared with the previous quarter. In the fourth quarter of 2016, GDP grew by 0.5% and 0.6% respectively.

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 1.9% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the EU28 in the first quarter of 2017, after +1.8% and +2.0% respectively in the previous quarter.

During the first quarter of 2017, GDP in the United States increased by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter (after +0.5% in the fourth quarter of 2016). Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, GDP grew by 2.0% (after +2.0% also in the previous quarter).
