The company embarked on a recruitment campaign last month to hire prospective staff at the first store, replacing the old Gap store on Limassol’s Anexartisias Street that has closed. The Beirut-based Azadea Group entered a franchise agreement with Gap in 2012 and launched the first stores in Lebanon in August of that year. Last month, Azadea Group entered into a new franchise agreement for the Gap brand in Cyprus. This expansion of Azadea’s retail portfolio means that retail operations will top 500 doors across their countries and includes among other brands Zara, Bershka, Massimo Dutti and Gap.
This move is a part of Azadea’s retail strategy to expand their brand portfolio as well as grow retail operations from Cyprus and throughout the Middle East and North Africa, where it is present in 15 countries.
“We are proud to be partnering up with Gap Inc. for the operation of Gap’s franchise store in Cyprus,” said Azadea’s CEO Said G. Daher. “We strongly believe in this global brand and trust that the potential for growth and profitability in this market and beyond, is far from being tapped. We are eager to deliver an exceptional shopping experience to the customers in Cyprus.”
