Self tests will be available in Cyprus from December 20, the health ministry announced on Sunday.
The tests – five per pack – will be available free from pharmacies for people who have completed their vaccination programme, the ministry said.
The delay in bringing the tests, the ministry said, was due to the fact they wanted the tests to be able to include the latest variant, Omicron.
The self tests will be available from Gesy pharmacies on proof of ID.
Those who have completed their vaccination programme in Cyprus and are not beneficiaries of Gesy, will be able to receive the self tests from various points in each district to be announced in the coming days, the ministry said.
