Five new hotels to open in Larnaca in 2015

Five new hotels are expected to operate in Larnaca in 2015, according to the town’s Tourism Development and Promotion Company.

The new hotels and renovations at existing hotel units will boost accommodation options, both in quality and quantity, the development company said in a statement.

It said that the Cia Stelio hotel in the Makenzie area would operate in April 2015, with 102 rooms.

The Mikes Kanarium hotel will operate with 52 rooms, as well as a new boutique hotel with 35 rooms. Both will open in the first quarter of 2015 in the Ayios Lazaros area.

According to the tourism development company, a new hotel at Zinonos Avenue will also begin operating next spring with 52 rooms, in the same area as another boutique hotel.

The development company said that out of the five hotels, which are in the process of operating next year, the Lenios Hotel is undergoing renovation.

Larnaca also hopes to see a new luxury hotel on its popular seafront in 2018. Building is due to start in 2016.

The new luxury hotel will have 22 floors and will be 72 metres high, covering a total area of 50,000 square metres. It will be located at Athinon Avenue on Phinikoudes beach.
