First Moderna vaccines dose to reach Cyprus by Tuesday evening

As coronavirus inoculation in Cyprus is in progress, the EU-member island expects delivery of its first 1,200 Moderna vaccines by Tuesday evening, Philenews reports.

Health Ministry also said that Cyprus should receive a total of 16,500 Moderna vaccines before the end of the first quarter of 2021.

Cyprus is among the first European Union countries to receive a consignment of vaccines developed by Moderna – an American pharmaceutical company.

The European Commission last week granted conditional marketing authorization for the Moderna vaccine. The new vaccine is jointly developed by Pfizer and BioNtech.

The delivery of Moderna vaccines in EU countries is carried out by Kuehne + Nagel international company.
