First of May a holiday but will not be transferred on Monday

The legislation in Cyprus does not give the right to the Labor Minister to transfer the May 1 holiday, which is on Sunday, to Monday, as this will be done in Greece.

So the holiday in Cyprus is on Sunday, when general shops will remain closed. Kiosks and bakeries can operate normally with increased compensation for employees.

Monday will be a normal working day for the government, the banks and all shops.
